It’s hard to do without a good horse in KCD 2. And not for nothing – this is a game about medieval times, and in those times horses were the main mode of transportation.

A good horse will allow you to win battles with enemies and move faster through the large open world of the game. Just what kind of horse to choose, so that it is not it is balanced in terms of characteristics? Let’s try to figure it out together!

How to choose a horse? What characteristics are important?

Horses in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II have certain characteristics – endurance, speed, courage, ability to carry cargo. All these parameters are important and effective in their own way and in different situations one horse can show its efficiency, while the other will be less productive and useful. Therefore, be sure to take into account that you need to rely primarily on the characteristics of the horse and select it for certain conditions – battles, transportation of loot, just moving around the map and so on. Below are described all the properties that your horse can have in the game.

  • Speed – The higher the value, the faster your horse moves around the map.
  • Courage – Responsible for the horse’s resilience in battle. Horses with low Courage may become frightened and throw the rider off when encountering enemies.
  • Carry Capacity – shows how many items you can carry in your horse’s inventory.
  • Stamina – determines how long a horse can gallop before it begins to tire.

If you often participate in battles on horseback, you will need a brave and fast horse.

For those who want to get rich collecting loot, a horse with a high carrying capacity is better suited. Now that you know about the characteristics that horses have in KCD 2 – finding the right horse will be easier.

But, to make your search even easier, below you can see brief reviews of the best horses and where to find them.

The best horses in KCD2 and where to find them

There are a lot of good, powerful and very fast horses in the game, which can become your faithful companions in battles and traveling. However, out of them you can single out the 4 best ones. Just do not forget that first of all you should look at what are your requirements for the horse. There are strong horses on the list that can easily carry a huge weight. There are those with whom any fight (even with the strongest enemies) will seem like a trifle. And there are universal horses – they are suitable for different tasks.

The best all-purpose horse is Pisek Lad.

If you need a horse that is balanced in all characteristics, Pisek Lad is the best option. The horse has decent speed, decent carrying capacity and high courage. He is not superior to other horses in specific parameters, but his characteristics are balanced enough that he will be good at everything. However, he will not be the best at anything.

This horse can be purchased from a horse breeder in Kuttenberg.

The best war horse – Kasztanka.

If your priority is to ride a horse with high courage and good speed, then meet Kasztanka! The best war horse for jousting. This horse is able to withstand enemy attacks without dropping the rider, and as you know – in battles 1 against several such advantages can come in handy. But this horse is not suitable for cargo transportation at all… For this purpose a horse that is considered a bit lower will be suitable.

Kasztanka can be purchased in the same Malov’s stables.

The best horse to carry a load is Erdel.

Erle is a real truck, as he can carry some truly incredible weights. This horse can carry more objects than any other horse. But the high carrying capacity is not his only ability. And there are universal horses – they are suitable for different tasks. Therefore, he is also suitable for duels. However, his speed leaves much to be desired, so for long trips wow will not be enough.

Erdel can be purchased at the Malov Stables in the south of the map.

The best horse to balance speed and carrying capacity is Meadow.

The last horse for today is Meadow. It is a good combination of speed, stamina and strength. It is inferior to Erla in terms of the maximum amount of weight carried, but for traveling this horse will be better suited than all the previous ones. To get Meadow, you need to go north of Bellain, an enemy camp nearby. There you will have to defeat the bandits, after which you can get this horse.

To make Meadow your own, take her to the horse breeder at the black market where you can make a purchase. The horse breeder is located west of Kenberg.

How do I improve my horse’s characteristics? Better equipment

First of all, horseshoes greatly affect the horse’s speed. The best option is racing horseshoes, which increase the speed by +5 units. These horseshoes can be found north of Saukstal, by the water reservoir. There in a small camp lies a sack with this valuable item. If you want to make your own horseshoes, go to the horse trader in Kuttenberg. Find a blueprint for making them so you can order them from the blacksmiths.

Secondly, saddles help increase carrying capacity. The best saddles are Kovian and Dragonian. They give the highest weight carrying capacity, but can slow the horse down.

A medium weight saddle doesn’t reduce speed as much, but gives a good increase in carrying capacity.

You can also pick up a variety of armor pieces:

  • Comparison – increases carrying capacity and gives the horse more protection.
  • Chanfron – protects the horse’s head and increases courage.

There are many different horses in the game, which can be obtained by completing quests, or you can buy them from sellers. But you can’t own more than one horse, so you have to make a choice. And for this, all of the above information can be very useful.
